Since opening, we have been proud to provide many different arrangements, including dove releases, horse-drawn hearses, motorcycle hearses, a bicycle hearse, coffins designed by the family, football-themed funerals, rugby-themed funerals and even Viking funerals. Military Funerals
When Neil agreed to start Ivor Thomas Funerals, he did so with one condition: that we offer military-style funerals for those who have served our country, no matter their rank, role or the amount of time they served. We will provide a bugler to play The Last Post, a standard bearer, coffin drapes and regimental music to give your loved one the recognition they deserve for putting their life at risk for our safety. Although these additional options are usually charged, this will be deducted if they have a campaign medal.
DIY Funerals
We believe that every family should have the input that they want and have, on several occasions, assisted with DIY Funerals. If you are happy to complete the paperwork and administration, we are happy to assist with what you are unable to provide yourself; whether it is a hearse, a coffin, or even just the printing of the orders of service, we are here to help.
Green Funerals
We at Ivor Thomas Funerals believe everyone must do their bit for the environment, and we factor this into every decision we make. This starts at not embalming unless the family specifically requests it, to using a UK coffin manufacturer who is proudly carbon negative. This is why we can offset the carbon produced by any funeral by planting trees and giving the option of dedicating them to your loved one at your request.
